Arts & Crafts

Taking part in group activities is a perfect way to socialise and learn new skills. Our Activities Coordinator works hard to ensure there is something fresh and exciting for our residents to put their hand to, including regular Arts & Crafts sessions. From painting and drawing through to flower arranging there is an array of craft options for residents to enjoy.

Being creative has a plethora of fantastic mental and physical benefits for our residents; combined with the social aspect attending group sessions offers, residents are almost certain to have fun and receive multiple benefits from attending these sessions.

Inclusive & Accessible Activities

It is extremely important to us that every activity available here at Hazelwood Care Home can be enjoyed by all of our residents, including those living with Dementia and those with physical limitations. We encourage our residents to try new things in a safe, controlled and regulated way, which will fill them with the confidence they need to continue living fulfilled and happy lives. All sessions are designed specifically for our residents, with the goal of motivating and inspiring everyone who takes part.

Arts & Crafts FAQs

There is a great deal of variation of projects in our Arts & Crafts classes. From making paper tissue poppies to display on Remembrance Sunday, to painting landscapes and making 3D sculptures, our Activities Coordinator ensures each session is different and can be enjoyed by all. Each of our residents has access to a variety of creative activities and we supply all the necessary equipment.

You are free to proudly display your creation in your room or give it as a present to a loved one. Residents are also given the opportunity to display their work around the home for all residents, visitors and staff to admire.

The care home fee that you pay includes all of the activities residents participate in. Art supplies are included within the care home fee.

Our Arts & Crafts workshops are held on a regular basis and last anywhere from one to three hours, depending on the activity. Every week, new schedules and activities are created, ensuring residents are motivated to join in and enjoy not only being creative but also making the most of the social aspect each session offers.
