We’ve Had Lots of Christmas Fun at Hazelwood
From Elf Day to a toy collection donation, gift-giving and a Christmas party, residents and staff have been busy having a ball during the festive period at Hazelwood Care Home.
On the 3rd of December, Hazelwood held Elf Day. Elf Day is a day in December devoted to raising money for Alzheimer's UK. Our home had a stall offering cupcakes and hot drinks, as well as a raffle where people could win chocolate bouquets, bottles of wine, wax melts and a box of cupcakes.
Donations were accepted in exchange for drinks, cupcakes or a raffle ticket. We raised a total of £413.46 from donations for Alzheimer's UK, a big thank you to everyone who donated.
A donation collection of children's toys was also collated from the 1st of December until the 13th for a local charity in Kent.
We received plenty of donations which filled the box and even had a smaller box of sweet treats that were all to be given to The Community Cupboard.
Residents had a ball at the Hazelwood Christmas Party. Residents, staff and family members danced to festive tunes in our decorated foyer and many enjoy a glass of their favourite beverage. The afternoon was full of indulgent food and good company.
On Christmas Eve, Hazelwood's very own Santa did the rounds and gifted every resident with a bundle of Christmas presents.
We hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year's. We can't wait to do it all over again next year.
