Making Wishes Come True

The overall wellbeing of our residents is of utmost importance to us here at Hazelwood Care Home and our team goes above and beyond to listen and meet the needs and wishes of our residents.

In order to support this, our Activities & Wellbeing team have been painting murals in our Poppy Unit, one of which is a wishing tree. Not only have the murals brightened up our environment but they have also encouraged our residents to share with us their different wishes. We have received lots of wishes so far including a trip to the beach and watching tennis.

The timeliness of Wimbledon allowed us to make one of our resident's wishes come true this month. We made a big event for Ted by showing the Wimbledon matches on the big screen in our cinema room.

We also organised some balloon tennis for our residents to play and served them strawberries and cream with chocolate fruit sponge cake to indulge in whilst watching the tennis. Our big screen made our residents feel like they were part of the crowd and involved in the wonderful sporting event.

The tennis certainly brightened up what has been a few wet and windy days, and we managed to fulfil Ted's wish of watching tennis on the big screen.

If you would like to find out more about how our care home in Kent can support you and your family then we welcome you to book a tour or get in touch with a member of our friendly team.
