Celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Residents and Loved Ones Celebrating Jubilee

At Hazelwood Care Home, we like to celebrate lots of different occasions throughout the year, big and small, and the Queen's Platinum Jubillee was no exception.

On Saturday 4th June, we gathered our staff, residents, and their loved ones in our garden to commemorate 70 years of the Queen's service to those in the United Kingdom. We celebrated the day with lots of good food and drink and decorated the home in union jack bunting and flags as well as wore hats to mark the occasion.

The sun shone brightly for us all day, and it was a wonderful event where we all got to reconnect as a home and with members of the local community. There were a lot of conversation, smiles, laughter, and dancing shared among us and we very much look forward to hosting another event soon.

It is extremely important to us at The Hazelwood to celebrate all kinds of events, whether it's residents' birthdays or anniversaries, seasonal festivities, and national days. These moments were often enjoyed and celebrated by our residents prior to moving into our home, and we don't want that to change just because their living arrangements have.

When we do hold celebrations, we will often do them as events or as part of our activities programme. Family and friends are always welcome to join in and residents always have the option to use our private dining room for dinners or afternoon tea. If you are interested in using this facility for an occasion with a resident then please get in touch with our friendly team who will be happy to help.
