We are so very proud that our care facility provides expert and individualised assistance and support to people living with dementia. Our specialised Poppy Unit has everything that our nurses require to deliver high-quality care to each and every one of our residents. Additionally, our team has received and will continue to receive continual training to better their knowledge of dementia, including the most recent dementia care techniques. We also have a sensory area that is often utilised by all residents, but especially those with dementia, and our Activities Team offers a variety of dementia-friendly activities to help our residents cope better with memory loss. We update our weekly schedule to ensure that exciting and beneficial activities are available for all of our residents. 

To help our dementia residents maintain routine and a sense of regularity, families are always welcome to join in the fun here with us at Hazelwood Care Home. For older people who are living with dementia, we understand how important it is to create a space that really feels like a home from home. That’s why our Garden and Sensory Room is open for everyone to benefit from.

Respite Care in Kent

We recognise that sometimes you just need a break, whether you are a caretaker yourself or have recently been discharged from the hospital after a sickness or injury. Respite care is a great option for short-term care and can run from a few weeks to several months (a minimum stay does apply). Residents receiving our respite care service can take advantage of our home’s first-rate amenities and round-the-clock assistance. At Hazelwood Care Home, we want our residents to feel at home from the second they set foot through our front doors, and we encourage all of our resident’s friends and family members to visit as much as possible.
