Our Big Summer BBQ

A couple of weeks ago, on the 21st July, we held our annual Big Summer BBQ. However this year, the event was extra special, as we also celebrated one of our Chefs, Dee Crockford, who has worked at the Hazelwood for the last 20 years.

The weather was amazing, as were the spirits of our residents and staff who all came together to celebrate not only this bright and sunny time of year but the dedication and hard work shown by Dee.

As always, the Chefs and catering team put on a great spread, and the BBQ was successfully managed by several of our team members, including our Home Manager, George, who very much likes to get stuck in when a barbecue is involved!

The residents were able to enjoy a selection of their favourite foods and drinks, as well as spend the afternoon sharing stories, listening to music, and bonding with the team.

At Hazelwood, we are extremely lucky to have a team of compassionate and committed staff and Dee is a perfect example of this. We highly value our employees and we treat each other as family, which is one of the greatest qualities our home has.

Dee was recognised for her spectacular service and was gifted with flowers and presents. She was also met with wonderful comments of appreciation from both the residents and team, who were all in agreement that Dee is an incredible asset to Hazelwood Care Home.
