A Musical Journey Around the World at Hazelwood Care Home

We recently hosted two inspiring musical events at the Hazelwood that brought joy, movement, and cultural exploration to its residents. With the arrival of professional entertainers Lyn Hunt and Francesco Bernardini, residents were treated to lively, interactive sessions designed to engage both mind and body.

The first event, “Getting Active to Music” with Lyn Hunt, encouraged residents to participate in gentle physical activity set to familiar and uplifting tunes. The session was carefully tailored to promote movement that is both safe and enjoyable, helping residents improve their coordination and boost their mood. As music filled the air, many residents found themselves tapping their feet, clapping their hands, and even joining in simple dance moves, creating a vibrant atmosphere of fun and togetherness.

Following this energetic start, Francesco Bernardini’s “Journey of Music Around the World” offered a fascinating cultural experience. Francesco guided the residents through the sounds and rhythms of various countries, offering a glimpse into diverse musical traditions.

Both events took place in Hazelwood’s beautiful rose-filled garden, basking in warm sunshine that added to the cheerful ambiance. Residents, along with our staff and visiting family members, gathered outside to enjoy the fresh air and vibrant setting, making the experience even more memorable.
