Fireworks Display at Hazelwood
This year, we were delighted to bring fireworks night to the residents at Hazelwood Care Home.
As we enter the winter period, the nights get darker and the weather colder, and at Hazelwood Care Home we wanted to host something spectacular for our residents to look forward to and enjoy.
Many fireworks displays and bonfires are held across local communities at this time of year, and this year we decided to bring the fireworks to our residents.
The display was a complete success, with our residents and their relatives getting together in our private garden for the evening and being entertained by the vibrant and colourful fireworks. It was an evening enjoyed by all, and despite the colder weather, it was rather lovely for everyone to get some fresh air and cosy up with blankets and gloves.
We understand the difficulties that many people face this time of year, as the darker and colder weather can make us less motivated. Our fantastic activities team recognises how important it is for our residents to keep active and stimulated, and go above and beyond to make sure that our residents have days that are fun and varied.
We also try to incorporate as many themes from throughout the year into our activities programme and dining experiences, such as Guy Fawkes and Christmas, and we go to great efforts to understand and include traditions that our residents have with relatives, as this can be really important for reminiscence.
We have an exceptional team of staff here at Hazelwood Care Home and we would like to thank them for helping making this a speciali celebration for our residents. We are looking forward to welcoming more relatives and members of the local community to our home again soon.
