Embracing the Sunshine With a Song

With the warmer weather coming out in the last few weeks, we have been making the most of the sunshine whilst it lasts and topping up our vitamin D levels.

Nick is one of our regular entertainers and is always a huge hit with the residents. He usually comes for a sing-along and since he is one of the favourites, there is always a big turnout of residents. For this month's visit, Nick was playing some acoustic folk music. With the sun finally coming out, our Activities Team thought it would be the perfect time to turn it into a garden session. We brought out the outdoor chairs, put on our summer hats and had a brilliant time sitting under our umbrellas and singing along with Nick.

We had a great day, all of our residents were happy and relaxed, chatting with their friends and they didn’t want to come back inside! Our team also provided residents with blankets as the day went on, to keep them as comfortable as possible.

At Hazelwood Care Home, we are dedicated to supporting our residents in making the most of every day. There are numerous benefits of fresh air including improved moods, sleep levels and energy levels. Our garden is more than just a patio area for residents to sit, we also have an expansive pond and water feature, and numerous raised planters. 

The overall wellbeing of our residents is our top priority at our care home in Longfield. This is why our Activities Team go above and beyond to ensure they offer regular, stimulating activities that enhance their quality of life. Our residents can’t wait to invite Nick back for his next session and hope that we can continue to have garden sessions.
