Hazelwood is a private care home in Kent, situated in the village of Longfield. Our purpose-built care home has been designed to provide a range of luxury facilities and personalised care for up to 50 residents.

Hazelwood is driven by our highly-qualified Home Manager, George, who has extensive experience in Dementia Care and living amongst residents in a care home setting. New residents are invited to meet with our George prior to moving into our home so that he can give his expert advice and guidance, and ensure that we are the right home for them by being able to meet their individual needs.

At Hazelwood Care Home, we place great emphasis on making sure residents feel safe, encouraged and able to continue to live their lives in whichever way they want. Part of that is to encourage independence, but also enable residents to pursue interests, continue hobbies and meet new people. Our Activities Team works hard to build relationships with the residents and learn what they like to do so that this can be incorporated into our weekly programme, which relatives are often invited to get involved with too.
When residents are not out on a day trip in the local community, or participating in an activity at the home, there is plenty of other things on offer to keep them entertained and stimulated. Residents who like to discover new films or read a good book can do both in the comfort of their own home, with our Cinema Room and Library offering comfortable seating and a variety of titles to get stuck into. Our beauty salon and Garden and Sensory Room also greatly benefit our resident’s mental and physical wellbeing, and we actively encourage our residents to take full advantage of these fantastic facilities.
At our nursing home in Kent, we have a team of highly-qualified registered nurses and care assistants who go to great lengths to provide first-class, friendly care. Both specialised and elderly nursing care is given to those with a physical disability, high dependency needs, and those who require end-of-life care.

Our specialised care is provided to thoeliving with dementia in our dedicated Poppy Unit, an area that is fully equipped with the resources our nurses need to provide care at the highest standard. Our team also has and continues to receive ongoing training to educate them in understanding all aspects of dementia and the latest methods in dementia care.
Our activity coordinators put together a full range of dementia-friendly activities that help with memory impairment, and we also have a sensory room that is used regularly by all residents but especially those with dementia. Families are welcome at all time to help our dementia residents maintain routine and sense of normalcy.
At Hazelwood Care Home, we support residents who may find it difficult with daily activities and therefore can no longer live independently or those who wish to benefit from the companionship a care home offers. All residents are provided with bedrooms that come beautifully decorated and furnished with en suite facilities and modern comforts, enabling residents to relax, have time to themselves, and welcome loved ones and friends.
Our person-centred approach to care ensures residents retain their independence and dignity, whilst assuring them that we are there to provide as little or as much care and support as they need, from personal care, to assistance with mobility.
