A Memorable Day with Rocky’s Farm at Hazelwood Care Home

Hazelwood Care Home in Longfield was brimming with smiles and excitement recently as we welcomed a very special visit from Rocky’s Farm. The day was filled with laughter, curiosity, and plenty of heart-warming moments as residents enjoyed meeting and interacting with a variety of friendly animals.

The front lawn of Hazelwood was transformed into a lively little farmyard, where goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, turtles, and even some fascinating small dragons made themselves at home. The animals roamed freely, delighting residents who gathered to watch, stroke, and feed them. The gentle nature of the animals made it easy for everyone to engage, whether they wanted to hold the smaller pets or simply sit back and enjoy the cheerful atmosphere.

For many residents, the highlight of the day was being able to cuddle and stroke the rabbits and guinea pigs, while others couldn’t stop smiling at the playful goats. The turtles and small dragons added an extra sense of wonder, sparking lots of conversation and happy memories of pets and experiences from the past.

Animal visits like this are more than just entertaining—they bring therapeutic benefits too. Interacting with animals has been shown to reduce stress, lift mood, and encourage social interaction, making it a valuable and enjoyable activity for residents. At Hazelwood, we’re passionate about creating moments like these that not only entertain but also contribute to wellbeing and quality of life.

The visit from Rocky’s Farm sparked plenty of joy and gave residents and staff alike something to talk about for days afterwards. Shared experiences like this help foster a strong sense of community within the home, while also offering something truly special for everyone to look forward to.

We are already excited about the possibility of Rocky’s Farm returning to Hazelwood Care Home in the future. Their visit brought an extra spark of happiness to the home, and it’s safe to say that both our residents and the team thoroughly enjoyed this unique and memorable day.
