Garden Centre Fun: A Day Out at Millbrook

Here at Hazelwood Care Home in Longfield, we always look for ways to brighten our residents’ days – and our recent trip to the local Millbrook Garden Centre did just that.

On a beautifully warm day, a group of our residents set off for a relaxed outing filled with laughter, fresh air, and a touch of retail therapy. We began with a light lunch, enjoyed together in the garden centre café. The refreshing drinks and delicious bites were the perfect way to kick off the afternoon and fuel up for the fun ahead.

After lunch, we explored the vibrant displays of plants, flowers, and garden décor. The garden centre offered plenty of inspiration for green-fingered residents and those who simply enjoy the beauty of nature. There were smiles all around as everyone browsed the colourful aisles and shared gardening stories and tips.

More than anything, the day was about companionship. Spending time outside of the home, enjoying something different together, created a real sense of joy. The conversations flowed easily, and the cheerful energy from our residents was infectious. It’s days like these that remind us of the importance of staying connected to the wider community and enjoying life’s simple pleasures.
