Easter Celebrations at Hazelwood Care Home
This month at Hazelwood Care Home, we have been celebrating all things Easter and welcoming in the new season, especially within our activities.
Arts and crafts is a very popular activity with our residents here at Hazelwood Care Home and they have particularly enjoyed our sessions this month which included crafting lovely bonnets.
The residents got very creative, making their bonnets with lots of colour, feathers, and flowers, and they later got to show them off during our Easter bonnet parade.
Like with all of our arts and crafts sessions, the time spent together brought the residents closer together and left them all feeling very joyful after sharing lots of stories and laughter with one another.
We have also spent time learning some fun facts about chocolate in the style of "Family Fortunes" and then the residents and staff got to indulge in some chocolate themselves when we had a visit from the Easter bunny.
It seemed fitting to also find out more about the origin of the Easter bunny and as a result, our residents enjoyed lots of cuddles with our very own bunny teddy.
We also had huge success recently with our one-to-one sessions. At Hazelwood Care Home, we love to host events and group games but it is also important to us that we reach out to all our residents including those who may be less mobile.
Easter was a fantastic time for us and we went to great efforts to ensure that all of our activities and celebrations were inclusive for everyone, and its safe to say we all had a wonderful time.
