An Incredible Milestone Celebration
This month, Hazelwood was filled with joy and excitement as we came together to celebrate a truly extraordinary milestone—our beloved resident Rosalind Bass turned 100! The day was a heartfelt tribute to Rosalind’s incredible life, filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments that will be remembered for years to come.
The celebrations began in our dementia community dining lounge, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Residents, staff, and relatives gathered to honour Rosalind and share in her special day. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and excitement as everyone enjoyed delicious food, thoughtful gifts, and lively entertainment. Flowers and decorations added a festive touch and created the perfect setting to celebrate such a momentous occasion.
One of the top highlights of the day was Rosalind receiving a special telegram from King Charles and Queen Camilla. This unique and memorable gesture featured a beautiful photo of Their Majesties and a personal message of congratulations and marked the first time our care home had received a royal greeting. The arrival of the card created a wonderful buzz among residents and staff, making the day feel even more special and unforgettable.
For Rosalind’s loved ones, the celebrations didn’t end there. On Saturday 16th November, we hosted a private gathering in our cosy private dining area, where Rosalind’s closest relatives had the chance to celebrate together in a more intimate setting. This thoughtful touch ensured that Rosalind’s milestone birthday was marked with the love and attention it deserved and gave her family precious memories to cherish.
Events like these are at the heart of what we do here at Hazelwood Care Home. They provide a chance for our residents, families, and staff to come together, building bonds and creating moments that strengthen our sense of community and belonging. For many of the residents in attendance, the day was not just about celebrating Rosalind but also about sharing in her joy and reflecting on the incredible achievements that a century of life represents.
We are so honoured to have been part of Rosalind’s 100th birthday celebration. It was a privilege to witness her delight and the love that surrounded her on this special day. We look forward to celebrating many more milestones with the wonderful residents, families, and staff who make Hazelwood such a vibrant and caring community!
